About Our Club

The Rend Lake RC Club is dedicated to the Hobby of flying FIXED-Wing radio controlled model airplanes. Our Main Goals are to Promote the Hobby, Help Newcomers, Fly Safely, and most Important, Have Fun.

Public Flying Day

To promote the Hobby, we sponser several events each year. For example, in May or June, we have a Public Flying Day where the general Public is invited to fly an RC aircraft with an experienced Instructor.

Military Fly-In

In the Fall, usually in August or September, we have a Scale / Military Fly-In..... Military aircraft in all eras are Welcome.

Newcomers & Beginners

We encourage everyone that may be interested in this fine Hobby, weather you may be a Newcomer or Beginner, or a seasoned Pilot, to come on out.... Visit our Flying Sites.... Watch others fly thier planes or just Ask Questions you may have....We strive for a relaxed and friendly atmosphere at our Flying Fields...... In you are a Beginner and have a Plane, bring it out,,,, One of our Instructors is most likely to be at the Field on Sunday afternoons, and willing to look your Plane over and Help you get started in Flying R/C.....

When do Club Members Fly

During the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons, usually we fly at the Rend Lake Collage field on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. And on Thursday afternoon, we usually fly at the Whittington Field..... Winter months are questionable of course, and therefore, flying is a hit or miss situation.
